A tragic spectral friend
Marie was first discovered in Death House where she attacked the party after they attempted to enter the nursery. However, Preacher noticed her silently mouthing words, and stopped the fight to communicate. When she realized they didn’t want to hurt her or her home, in fact wanting to protect Rose and Thorn, she aided the party through the house.
In her life, Marie was the Durst family maid and guardian of Rose and Thorn. Gustav had had an affair with her, and shortly after she gave birth to a little boy, Elisabeth had the cult murder her and stuff her body in a chest. Unlike Rose and Thorn, she does not have a crypt, so burying her skeleton will not put her to rest.
